I mean, yay for new backgrounds and Kitty having a wonderful new shopping experience, but still… what the heck?
Last weeks events took place mostly in Kitty’s view of cyberspace where her own self-image determines her appearance. Her look shifted along with her whim and emotion. You haven’t missed anything in between. This is simply her choosing to make some of those changes to her self and her appearance that she is expressing there, now in reality. Also, you know, have a good time hanging out at the mall. ^.^
In the intro images of Kitty fighting criminals, she wears the same hair color, hair style, and modified transceiver crystal as shown here. So either the fighting of criminals (one of the core premises of this comic) takes place only in her head, out she really can shift like that in the real world too. We already know she can modify reality, so it would make more sense to just say she has nano-bots or replicator technology and that she did physically change in order to do her night job.
What is she using for money? Last time she went shopping online she used someone else’s credit card. Would her shopping purchases and motel bill show up on that card statement, which would give away her room location, or has she found a new financial source of her own?
